Interior Design from New York School of Interior Design is a Campus Associate Design degree that prepares you for a Art and Design career. The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree program fulfills the minimum of two years of college-level interior design education that is required along with the requisite work experience to be eligible to become a Certified Interior Designer in the State of New York. The pre-professional AAS degree is comprised of 66 credits, which can be completed in four semesters of full-time study; however, students may pursue their program of study on a part-time and day or evening basis. Of the total credits, 49 are required in the professional sequence and 14 in the liberal arts plus 3 elective credits. Required credits earned in AAS courses may be applied to the BFA upon acceptance into the BFA program. Of the 66 credits required for the AAS degree , a minimum of 33 credits must be taken at NYSID and not transferred from a previous college. Of the 33 credits, 30 must be in professional and design history courses. These required courses at NYSID include 234 Residential Design II and 286 Contract Design I.
