Relies upon the collection, analysis and synthesis of relevant data for the appraisal of a client?s health status and to meet a client?s changing needs. Utilizes critical thinking and evidenced-based information as the foundation for clinical decision making. Assists clients in meeting needs by implementing nursing behaviors and actions based on knowledge and understanding of the natural and behavioral sciences, nursing theory and research and past nursing experiences. Nursing interventions are compassionate, nurturing, protective and client-centered creating an environment of hope and trust. Promotes, restores and maintains health and reduces risk through use of the teaching-learning process in collaboration with the client, significant support person(s) and the healthcare team. Collaborates with the client, significant support person(s), peers, and other members of the health care team and community agencies to meet client needs and assist the client toward desired outcomes.
