The Speech -Language and Communication Disorders Master\'s Program is designed to provide the candidate with the course work and clinical experience necessary to obtain Florida Department of Education certification, Florida Licensure awarded by the Florida Department of Health, and the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech -Language and Hearing Association(ASHA). The Master\'s program is approved by the Florida Department of Education and accredited by ASHA\'s Council on Academic Accreditation. Campus Based Program The master\'s degree program in Speech -Language Pathology is a clinically focused program designed to provide the individual with the academic and clinical experiences needed to provide a full range of speech -language pathology services to communicatively disordered clients in a wide variety of job settings. Although the program is based on the premise that the participants hold bachelor\'s degrees in the field, the Program offers the required prerequisite courses for the person whose bachelor\'s degrees is from other disciplines. The master\'s program is part of the Human Development and Family Services (HDFS) division at the Fischler School of Education and Human Services (FSEHS). Students in this program are involved in an intensive academic curriculum designed to provide the background information necessary for a clinical career. The rigorous, supervised clinical experience that students receive brings the academic instruction to life. Graduates of the program carry this quality clinical service throughout Florida, the nation and other countries. All clinic rooms are equipped for audio/video recording and transmission. Our new expanded facilities include classrooms, offices, therapy rooms, a voice science lab, and an augmentative and alternative communication lab.
