Through the combination of a rigorous curriculum and a supportive social environment students become scholars who investigate issues of learning and teaching in classrooms, schools, families, and other communities. Our graduate level teacher licensure programs (M.Ed.) prepare teachers to work in a diversity of settings--urban, rural, as well as suburban--in either early (grades Pre-K-3) or middle (grades 4-8) childhood education.. The School also offers a Master of Arts (M.A.) program with many areas of study. The M.A. program prepares students for advanced work at the Ph.D. level, develops their research skills, and enhances their teaching. In addition, teachers can work toward the requirements of the K-12 Reading Endorsement, the P-6 Mathematics Endorsement, the Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement, or the Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement.
