Program Overview Multimedia production is one of the four major concentration areas in the media major. The goals of the media major are: Develop skills in production and dissemination of material through the mass media (television, film, Web and journalism) which provide a foundation on which to build specific career skills Provide a base for a wide range of vocational experiences in mass media communication centering on production , direction and management Provide appropriate preparation for graduate study MultiMedia Production Concentration Overview MMP courses cover a broad spectrum of media production , including web, CD/DVD, audio, video, and creativity. During their freshman and sophomore years, multimedia production students experience introductory media classes. In the course of their sophomore year, students apply for entrance into this selective program. Acceptance into the program is limited and based on admission to the multimedia institute, which includes but is not limited to the following criteria: Performance in previous production courses Evaluation by previous MMC professors Previous class attendance, participation and academic performance Student essay and interview Professional goals of the student Willingness to commit to the discipline and intensive schedule of the program Seniors focus on a final media project and mediating an international marketing campaign. Students completing studies at the Institute will have a Web portfolio of their work.
