The baccalaureate major in Psychology is a unique program of study in the best liberal arts tradition and features B.A. and B.S. options in addition to an internship component undertaken in the junior and senior years. Students can choose from different study and internship tracks within the B.A. option and two B.S. options, allowing for different career directions which may include graduate school. Courses in the B.A. degree and the B.S. degree (options in Business and Science) emphasize basic psychological theory, methodology, and application of the science of psychology to human services, business, and health. Students admitted to the program must have earned a minimum of 60 credit hours from Penn State or other colleges and universities. Incoming freshmen or advanced standing students can matriculate as Penn State Lehigh Valley common year students until lthe credit minimum is attained to declare the major. Advanced standing students are admitted only with satisfactory performance at their previous institutions as specified in University policy. B.A. Community Mental Health/Drug and Alcohol Treatment/Therapeutic Support B.S. Business Option - Human Resources/Training/Management/Marketing B.S. Science Option - Behavioral Medicine/Clinical/Neuroscience This degree is designed to provide a high-quality, relevant, integrated, skills-based program of instruction in the basic theory, methodology, and application of the discipline of psychology . Non-traditional learning and intensive internship experiences make the program unique. All four years of the program can be completed at the Lehigh Valley campus. Students admitted to the Psychology major must have earned a minimum of 60 credit hours from Penn State or other colleges and universities. First year students or advanced-standing students with less than 60 credits can matriculate as Penn StateLehigh Valley common year students until the credit minimum is attained. Advanced-standing students from other accredited colleges or universities will be admitted only with specified grade-point averages established annually in accordance with university policy.
