If you have a passion to continue the sacred work of caring for others, join us as a nursing major! Overview PLNU?s nursing program has a 32-year history in the San Diego community. The nursing program involves six semesters of nursing curriculum and students apply to the program after completing prerequisite courses. Consideration for the nursing major is based on cumulative GPA and strength of complete application. Following selection by the School of Nursing, students must satisfy minimal standards for physical and emotional health required by a nursing professional. These include a physical examination by a healthcare provider and per agreement with the San Diego Nursing Service Consortium and affiliated hospitals, a background check and drug screening will be required prior to your first clinical experience. Once enrolled, you will learn about caring for the individual ? infant, child, and adult ? in a variety of contexts. You will also experience hands-on learning in a myriad of community and clinical settings.
