Human and Community Services The human and community services major is an interdisciplinary program that emphasizes theory and practice from the fields of human services , psychology and sociology. Students will develop a deeper understanding and perspective on the factors that influence individuals and different population groups. In addition to field experience and the professional internship, Human and Community Services majors complete individual Capstone projects during their senior year. This unique experience allows each student to prepare and implement a research-based, professional-level project for a local agency of his or her choice. They work with the aging, with victims of domestic violence, and with people recovering from drug addictions to understand their lives and assess how to prevent and remediate their challenges.
