Psychology from Quincy University is a Campus Bachelor Personality Psychology degree that prepares you for a Psychology career. The Psychology Program offers a BA degree and a minor. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for future graduate school admission and psychology- related careers. The program provides the undergraduate preparation necessary to pursue further training in any of the 30-plus specialties such as clinical, cognitive, consumer, counseling, developmental, environmental, evaluation and measurement, exercise and sport, experimental, health, industrial/organizational, physiological, rehabilitation, school, social, and occupational therapy. Our graduates have gone on to prestigious psychology graduate schools, MSW programs, and law schools. A senior practicum is required ? either a research practicum, in which students conduct and present an original research study; or an applied practicum, in which students work at social service agencies and other similar facilities in the area including Blessing Hospital, DCFS, Transitions, Cornerstone, Catholic Family Services, Chaddock, and Recovery Resources. Many of our students have turned their practica into full-time jobs after graduation. Graduate schools have also been impressed by the skills our students have developed through their practica. Many students pursue a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology with a goal of pursuing a career in the growing fields of law enforcement, forensics, criminology, and law. Students have also combined Psychology with such areas as Biology or Chemistry, pursuing careers in Physical or Occupational therapy or Medicine; Theology, pursuing careers in Pastoral Counseling; Business, pursuing careers in Industrial/Organizational Psychology , personnel management, or marketing; Art, pursuing careers in Art Therapy; and Education, pursuing careers in teaching and school counseling.
