School Counseling from Roberts Wesleyan College is a Campus Master Counseling and Personnel Services degree that prepares you for a Education career. The School Counseling Program is designed to prepare students for direct practice within public or private elementary, middle and high schools. Direct practice includes individual and group counseling, career and educational guidance with students, and consultation with parents, teachers and school administrators. The Master of Science in School Counseling consists of 61 total semester hours. At the completion of two years of full-time study, school internship and the qualifying examination, students are awarded the Master of Science degree and are eligible for New York State provisional certification as a School Counselor in Elementary and Secondary Schools (both public and private). Upon completion of all course work, students are awarded the CAS (Certificate of Advanced Study), and should be eligible for permanent certification as a school counselor following two years of full-time employment.
