Aviation from Rocky Mountain College is a Campus Bachelor Aeronautical engineering degree that prepares you for a Engineering career. The mission of the Rocky Aviation Program is to educate and train individuals to be professionals and leaders in the aviation industry. Our graduates are ready to begin successful careers in a wide variety of jobs in professional aviation . We offer Bachelor of Science degrees in Aeronautical Science (Professional Pilot) and in Aviation Management. Our graduates get meaningful jobs, and work in many different sectors of the industry including as pilots or managers in the airlines, corporate aviation , cargo, missions, hospitals, professional flight training and more. We are one of only about 30 colleges or universities accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International, which confirms the quality of our entire program. Our flight training is conducted in Piper and Beechcraft aircraft owned by the college. We have glass cockpit aircraft and sophisticated simulators that prepare graduates for competitive careers in aviation . Further training is conducted using state-of-the-art Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) flight management system simulation. We are about professionalism, excellent classroom instruction, and safe, efficient flight training--all with solid personal relationships. Rocky\\\'s aviation program is built on the foundation of a strong liberal arts education. Employers want people with a broad education as well as strong technical knowledge. The ability to speak, write, problem solve, lead and work on a team are critical, and they are what Rocky is all about. With this in mind, in the classroom we emphasize human performance, ethical behavior, and life-long professional growth. We are very supportive of the broad education our students get across the entire curriculum of the college. Aviation is the second largest major at Rocky, so our students have a significant presence across all activities on campus. Outside of the classroom, aviation students further their educations through participation in optional activities such as intercollegiate athletics, band and choir, study abroad, hiking and ski trips, and countless clubs. Aviation students are on the football, basketball, soccer and ski teams, they play in the band and sing in the choir, and an aviation student has been the student body president four years in a row. Recently, at least one aviation student has studied for a semester in Argentina and in Holland, taken part in an archaeological dig near the Sea of Galilee, studied ecology in Costa Rica, the Galapagos Islands and in Hawaii, and toured Austria and Germany learning about art and music, to name just a few activities. In addition, many have participated in aviation internships locally and across the country.
