Specific program objectives include providing students with: An understanding of the personal training field and the legal and leadership implications in the field; An understanding of the impact of nutrition and fitness on an individual seeking to improve his/her personal fitness; An understanding of basic first aid; A proficiency in a variety of health, education and recreation activities; A proficiency in the safe and appropriate operation of fitness equipment; and, A general education foundation from which to learn to communicate, to think critically and to analyze problems.
