You will study in a cohort model typically comprised of individuals from the corporate world. On the other hand, some of your colleagues may be currently teaching and seeking further certification. Furthermore, as a part of Rosemont?s accelerated graduate education program, students can benefit from exceptional practitioners including national award-winner Dr. Steven Portman, US Department STAR recipient and Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year semi-finalist, who currently teaches in a fifth grade classroom. When you begin your student teaching, usually within 12 months of starting the program, you will be well supported. The professional semestercreates a network of mentors, from your classroom cooperating teacher, to your student teaching supervisor, to faculty members Dr. Lou Tenaglia and Dr. Ann Hartsock, who facilitate the Graduate Seminar. This weekly seminar offers creative professional development in preparation for gainful and successful employment. Furthermore, unlike any other teaching institution, Rosemont?s Professional Semester Graduate Seminar also offers Classroom Management, Part II, the key to successful student teaching application and procedure. Without a doubt then, student teachers can practice ?best practices? classroom management skills immediately and diagnostically. Please be mindful of Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification changes commencing shortly. The new certification program (Preschool-Grade 4) is currently being planned. Implementation of the new P-4 program will begin as soon as it has been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education . You?ll discover we offer a number of program options: Earn your Master?s degree in Education and complete your K-6 Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification. Earn your Master?s degree in Education (open to active classroom educators). Earn graduate credits toward your Act 48 requirements in order to maintain and update your credentials. Earn your Post Baccalaureate PDE K-6 certification. Rosemont understands that you are a busy adult with many other commitments in your life. Courses are offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-10:00pm. Classes are small and the faculty?s approach is personal. The professors of the program are dedicated educators and practitioners who have a genuine commitment to their disciplines.
