Students take a daily, diverse curriculum of studio and theoretical courses including modern dance technique, and ballet technique. Audition classes for studio courses assure that each dance student works at the level best suited to advance her or his proficiency. Student training is enriched and advanced with the study of jazz technique, Afro-Fusion dance , choreography, improvisation, performance skills, repertory, dance history, Laban Movement Analysis, Kinesiology, dance production, dance for video, introduction to dance studies, sound and movement, advanced rhythm and drumming skills, rhythm for dancers, and dance for children. B.A. in Dance The Bachelor of Arts program in dance combines a broad experience in the liberal arts with a specialization in the area of dance. The program prepares students to advance beyond the bachelor?s degree in performance, teaching, dance criticism, or history.
