PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Graduate Program in Biology is meant to reach those working professionals who cannot be constrained by the traditional course scheduling. To accomplish this, Saint Joseph College brings our courses to these students by means of an Internet-based lecture program. Thus, students can fit courses around their work and home schedules, completing a Master of Science program in Biology within two years. Courses run year round over three semester scheduling. Our program has been approved by the Connecticut Department of Education, and we are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), whose accreditation is recognized nationwide. The Online Format Saint Joseph College has been delivering quality online courses for graduate stuents since 1999. Through our Internet-based program, students fit courses around their work and home schedules. Saint Joseph College is a member of the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium (CTDLC), founded in 1996 when 30 Connecticut colleges and universities agreed to work together to develop distance learn. The plan of study is comprised of at least 24 biology credits from the department's course selection and approved transfer courses. Depending on your interests there are other Saint Joseph College graduate programs that offer courses that may be a perfect fit for your interests. These can be approved for your plan of study. The courses offered in the Biology Department are in a variety of organismal, molecular, statistical and health related fields. Sample courses available include Ecology, Cell Biology, Animal Behavior, Endocrinology, Immunology, Genetics, Bacteriology, Parasitology, Advanced Physiology, Advanced Pathophysiology, Virology, Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, Epidemiology, Mammalogy, Evolution, Emerging Diseases, and Public Health, to name a few. Throughout, the curriculum presents opportunities for independent study and research.
