Theology and Pastoral Ministry Master from Saint Michaels College details

Program Format: Campus Program Level: Master

Theology and Pastoral Ministry from Saint Michaels College is a Campus Master Religious Studies degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. For the past fifty years the Graduate Theology and Pastoral Ministry program at Saint Michael?s College has provided an important service to the academy and the Church, and has garnered an international reputation for its quality and excellence. As one of the first summer programs of its kind, it also served as a pioneer and model for other Catholic institutions and programs. However, for a variety of reasons our summer student body has diminished over time, and though we have a small but stable enrollment, and continue to provide a high quality degree , the likelihood of significant increases in the student body is remote. Transforming Lives for Ministry and Service Therefore, after additional consultation with the program Director and other constituents, the President and his Cabinet have determined that new directions must be forged that will build on the great work that the Graduate Theology and Pastoral Ministry program has accomplished over the past five decades. With this in mind, the College has suspended new admissions to the program while we review various options for the future. We will continue to offer courses over the next few summers to ensure that all current students can complete their degree or certificate programs. We anticipate that most students will complete their programs by the summer of 2012 or summer of 2013, and I will work with each student individually to develop a plan for completion. Starting in summer 2012 we will offer other types of programs and possibly certificate options in place of the credit-bearing and degree oriented courses we have had in place these past five decades.
