We have the following two program options: Literacy Across the Curriculum for an Equitable Society (LACES), MA program - The LACES emphasis program offers a dynamic experience for K-8 teachers interested in advocacy for social justice and equitable literacy learning and teaching in urban schools. The program also incorporates requirements for both the Reading Certificate and the Reading/Language Arts Specialist Credential. The Reading Certificate and Reading Language Arts Specialist Credential may be completed without the MA degree, however, a pre-requisite teaching credential is required. Critical Research Academy (CRA), joint Multiple Subject Credential/MA program - The CRA emphasis program offers a dynamic experiencefor candidates who are interested in K-8 education for social justice, development of cultural literacy, education to promote democracy, and pedagogy for teaching in urban schools.
