We prepare students to design , build, install, sell, or fabricate creative and beautiful kitchens and baths. You'll explore innovative new appliances, cabinets, faucets, fixtures and more. Students in the program will develop the following skills: Creativity and aesthetic abilities Effective communication skills/people skills Advanced knowledge in all aspects of design and construction concepts Advanced knowledge of kitchen and bathroom design Advanced computer-aided drafting skills Drawing skills The kitchen and bath curriculum is recognized by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) as meeting their rigorous standards as a supported school program. As part of a select group of 52 schools in the U.S., the kitchen and bath design program at SFCC offers students an opportunity at more than $50,000 in scholarships offered through NKBA. Students are given credit towards education and experience for NKBA professional certifications including the opportunity for professional certification right out of college. The NKBA organization has over 40,000 kitchen and bath professional members. Students are taught the NKBA design standards that are recognized throughout the industry. Students can become NKBA student members and network with industry pros. Students will gain experience in the industry through a 160 hour professional internship with a kitchen and bath industry firm.
