Explore job opportunities and responsibilities in the early childhood field. Includes historical aspect of early childhood education. DEVELOPMENTAL AREAS OF CHILDREN ~ 180hr/6cr Examines the cognitive, social, physical, and emotional development of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Theoretical knowledge is integrated by identifying developmentally appropriate practices, activities and equipment selection. EARLY CHILDHOOD GUIDANCE & DISCIPLINE ~ 90hr/3cr A study of effective guidance methods which support the development of the child including the fostering of self-esteem and age-appropriate communication. Observation and recording techniques are developed.
