Certified Nursing Assistant from Seattle Community College - South Campus is a Campus Certificate Clinical Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. Overview of Program People interested in this program MUST attend an orientation session to be eligible to enroll in the class. The NA-C is a daytime program only. We do not have an evening program at this time. The NA-C program helps prepare students for the certification test for an entry-level position in the health care field. Strict attendance guidelines apply to this program. The course covers providing basic care, following care procedures, controlling infections, safety and emergency preparedness, restorative care, and dealing with death and dying. Upon entry into the program, students MUST provide paperwork showing the required updated immunizations and background check. Beginning Winter 2010, students must also provide paperwork for CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider class upon entry into the program. NA-C Certification/License with the State of Washington is required for students planning to continue in South's LPN Program. Overview of Potential NAC Employment Opportunities Graduates of this program find work as home health aides, registered nursing assistants, certified nursing assistants, and patient care technicians.
