History from Seton Hall University is a Campus Master History degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. The Master of Arts (MA) in History program offer rigorous and challenging coursework that provides excellent training for students to pursue a wide range of careers in a multitude of fields including Education Law Business Library Science The program also prepares those planning to pursue a doctoral degree in History. We invite students to choose one of four concentrations suited to individual interests, while encouraging them to conduct original historical research. Simultaneously, students are engaged in the most significant of historical debates and fields of study while working alongside professors who are experts on a wide range of historical topics. Master of Arts in History (30 credits) The MA in History requires the successful completion of 10 courses. The curriculum can be tailored to a student?s interest, and includes a required course titled ?The Historian?s Craft,? one or more of the Program and Directed Readings (PDR) courses, four concentration courses, and electives. Students may chose to write a thesis or take a final exam. A thesis is strongly recommended for those planning to continue their studies at the doctoral level.
