Cosmetology from Seward County Community College and Area Technical School is a Campus Associate Cosmetology degree that prepares you for a Vocational Programs career. COSMETOLOGY MISSION STATEMENT Seward County Community College offers highly structured cosmetology and nail technology programs for students wishing to become inspired in an exciting career. The program is dedicated to educating and training students to take the Kansas Board of Cosmetology written and performance exams required to obtain licensure. Expand your cosmetology career with the instructor course which is available to licensed cosmetologists. FACILITIES/EQUIPMENT Seward County Community College held opening ceremonies for the cosmetology school in July of 2001. The 6,000 sq. ft. building is located at the northwest corner of campus and is equipped with well-lit student, customer and designated handicapped parking. The cosmetology school's salon clinic has a comfortable reception area along with a large display of professional retail products. The clinic area includes 16 stylist work stations, 8 shampoo bowls, 10 hair dryers and a dispensary. The students receive training with Salon Iris software used to keep appointments, check out clients, keep inventory, and track student procedures. A second clinic area includes 4 pedicure chairs, 4 manicure tables, and a paraffin wax station for all nail services. The cosmetology school has the only ImagiNail machine in western Kansas. This machine will print nail art on the natural or artificial nail. This area is also used as a second classroom and is where the students use our client consultation Cyber Imaging computer system. The school has a separate room for facial and skin care and a separate area for waxing. Students have access to the equipped student break room and locker area.
