Mission Statement The Shawnee State University Athletic Training Program delivers traditional athletic training services to the student athletes of SSU. The primary services delivered include athletic injury prevention, recognition and evaluation. It is also the purpose of the Athletic Training Program to provide rehabilitation, education and counseling of athletic injury to the student athlete in order to enable them a safe and speedy return to activity. A foremost goal of the delivery of athletic training services is to integrate the SSU Athletic Trainer Educational Program to provide a maximal learning environment for both the student and student-athlete. The underlying mission of the Athletic Training Program is to meet the full range of health and wellness needs of the student athlete while at the same time providing an optimal learning environment for student athletic trainers. The Athletic Training Program at Shawnee State University strives to be recognized as providing both superior athletic training services to our student athletes as well as, producing an athletic training educational program of the highest quality. Vision Statement The Shawnee State University Athletic Training Program shall provide prevention, care, rehabilitation and education of athletic injury, of the highest quality, in keeping with the established standards of the profession of athletic training, to the student athletes of Shawnee State University. Shawnee State University is committed to becoming a leader in athletic training services among the American Mideast Conference and NAIA colleges and universities. The athletic trainer educational program shall serve as an integral part of this athletic training service, not only because of the quality of the student?s educational program but also because of the quality of and contributions made by the student athletic trainer clinical education experience.
