Nursing from Sinclair Community College is a Campus Associate Registered Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The nursing program provides students with the opportunity to become registered nurses. The curriculum is divided among non-nursing and nursing courses, where students participate in classroom activities and hospital experiences caring for people of all ages and health needs. The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc., 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850 Atlanta, Georgia 30326, (404) 975-5000, and approved by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing . To enroll in Nursing classes, an individual must be accepted into the Nursing program. The eight-quarter curriculum may be taken on a part-time basis, but Nursing courses must be taken in sequence. General education courses may be taken before admission to the Nursing program, prior to the quarter required, or within the quarter required. A grade of ?C? is required in all Nursing courses and the required general education courses. An overall grade point average of at least 2.0 is required to continue in the program. A cumulative grade point average of at least ?C? (2.0) is required for graduation. The graduate is eligible to take the National Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a Registered Nurse (R.N.). Program Outcomes Acknowledge the influence of diversity on patients, families, and members of the health care team. Demonstrate caring behaviors in providing patient-centered nursing care. Apply best current evidence and critical thinking to the steps of the nursing process to make clinical judgments related to nursing care. Implement nursing care that promotes balance in human responses to actual or potential health problems. Demonstrate safe performance of required nursing skills within cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Apply principles of effective and therapeutic communication with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary health care team. Implement teaching which is effective in promoting health or preventing illness. Plan and deliver nursing care to a group of patients in collaboration with other registered nurses and the interdisciplinary team. Assume responsibility and accountability for meeting ethical, legal and quality standards of the profession.
