Graduates receive a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) degree at the completion of the program. Since 1995, ASOT has prepared graduates to provide various community-based and clinical based services to individuals, groups, organizations, and to society at large. Occupational therapists share the common challenge of supporting clients to reach their maximum activity performance levels in daily life tasks in order to participate in the community. MSOT graduates practice in various medical settings as well as schools, early intervention programs, continuous care retirement facilities, and numerous other community settings. The entry-level MSOT curriculum provides occupational therapy students an experiential learning environment with an intensive focus on personal and professional development of each student. ASOT offers an intellectually stimulating, experiential, innovative educational program for the occupational therapy student. The (30) month program brings together a cohort of students who become peers and colleagues in a shared learning environment. The multitude of learning experiences during the professional phase of the program involves both practice experiences in varied community settings as well as high levels of active learning in the classroom. Graduates of the ASOT's MSOT entry-level program are employed in a wide variety of practice settings locally, nationally, and internationally. Program graduates pass the National Certification Examination for Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) certification exam at a rate, exceeding the national average. ASOT students have opportunities for close interaction with faculty members throughout the program and continue to receive faculty support as peers and colleagues after graduation.
