International Transportation and Trade from SUNY Maritime College is a Campus Bachelor Transportation Management degree that prepares you for a Transportation career. The ITT program is designed for strong students who are interested in careers in trade, transportation , and other aspects of international business. ITT students will receive the training that may someday enable them, as a CEO or hiring manager, to hire the graduates of other programs. Although some ITT candidates enroll part-time, most are full-time students. ITT students pursue a course of study that includes marketing, management , and finance leading to advanced classes in subjects such as marine insurance, importing and exporting, port and terminal management, and admiralty law. Students may also choose to design their upper division studies to attain a minor in intermodal and maritime security, preparing them to enter a field of growing international concern. Another option open to good ITT students is a "fast track" 5 year program wherein students who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher can substitute some graduate courses for senior requirements and be accepted in Maritime's graduate program. The graduate program offers a Master of Science in International Transportation Management . Two distinctive features of the undergraduate ITT degree are a capstone seminar in strategic management or transportation economics and an internship/work experience usually undertaken in the summer between the junior and senior years. The internship/work experience immerses the ITT student in a professional environment within an organization involved in international transportation, trade or some other aspect of global business. Students choose from a variety of possibilities including internships in multinational corporations, assignments in public agencies.
