The Masters of Science in Instructional Technology (MSIT) is for teachers who have completed prior studies in one or more fields of PreK-12 education and who already hold or are eligible for a New York State Initial teaching certificate in those fields. Our 37 credit hour program will prepare you to integrate technology into school settings for all learners including those with disabilities. You will also be prepared as a leader who works with school and district personnel to support overall technology initiatives. Upon successful completion of the MSIT program , you will be eligible for: NYS initial certification - Educational Technology Specialist (PreK-12) NYS professional teacher certification in the area of your initial NYS teaching certification What are some things you can do with an MSIT degree from Syracuse University? An Educational Technology Specialist in a high school works with a teacher to enhance student teamwork through effective integration of digital technologies in collaborative learning projects. The Educational Technology Specialist provides guidance and expertise in developing classroom activities to maximize the use of technology. In another district, an Educational Technology Specialist collaborates with the school district technology and professional development departments to build a series of in-service sessions focused on creating effective technology enhanced classroom environments. A middle school is adding interactive whiteboards to its classrooms to enhance teaching and student interaction.
