Students who successfully complete this certificate program are eligible to take the Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P) and the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) examinations administered by AHIMA. Students must complete the prerequisite certificate courses with a grade of C or better to be accepted into the core program. Students must complete the program sequence and graduate within three years. Students who do not complete the program within three years will be required to repeat courses where the most current skills and knowledge are critical.
