Computational Science from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is a Campus Bachelor Computer and Information Science degree that prepares you for a IT career. Computational science is a rapidly developing interdisciplinary field that emphasizes using computers to solve problems at the forefront of the sciences and mathematics . Computational scientists model, simulate and analyze real-life applications such as drug design, earthquakes, vehicle crashes, traffic control, climate change, medical imaging and smart materials. The Computational Science (CPLS) Program at Stockton offers concentrations in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, marine science and environmental studies. Each student can work with his or her computational science advisor on tailoring the curriculum to match his or her interest and strength within these concentrations. In addition, students will gain extensive practical experiences through a faculty-mentored project at the College, in the field, or at a nearby research facility such as the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center. Students in the program will have the option of graduating with a Baccalaureate Degree in CPLS at the end of the fourth year or, if qualified, continue their studies for a fifth year and receive an additional degree, a Master's of Science in CPLS. The fifth year of the program is designed to enhance the research experience of the student, as well as add a new professional dimension to the student's , as well as add a new professional dimension to the student's learning experience in CPLS.
