Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington is a Campus Master Electrical Engineering degree that prepares you for a Engineering career. Master's degree requirements are described in the general catalog section titled Requirements for the Master's Degree/Degree Plans and Hours Required. The MSEE degree options available are thesis option, thesis substitute option and non-thesis option. The courses taken for all degrees must be distributed over three of the nine areas given in the Objective section. The MSEE program of work in electrical engineering may include up to nine graduate level semester hours of supporting courses outside the Electrical Engineering Department in math, science and engineering . The Graduate Advisor must approve supporting courses that are permitted on a degree plan. The courses approved outside electrical engineering may be used in lieu of one of the three distribution areas. The thesis option requires 24 semester hours plus six semester hours of thesis (EE 5698). The thesis substitute option requires 33 semester hours of which three semester hours must be in the thesis substitute project (EE 5392). The non-thesis option requires 36 semester hours. EE 5391 may not be used to satisfy course requirements in either the Thesis or Thesis-substitute degree plans. EE 5391 may be used one time as part of the non-Thesis degree plan. EE 5191 may not be used toward the MSEE or MENGR degrees . The M.Engr. emphasizes design engineering and management. This program requires 36 semester hours distributed in the same manner as the MSEE program, except that up to 12 semester hours outside the department may be included.
