Now journalists everywhere have the opportunity to obtain a master's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia Journalism School.You may individualize the 36- to 37-semester-credit-hour degree program to your interest in print, broadcast or strategic communication (advertising). Completion time will depend on choice of enrollment, but you may graduate in three years by averaging two courses per semester. Once accepted to the degree program, you may enroll in individual courses. Media Management Model Program Core (9 credit hours): JOURN 401: Mass Media Seminar (3) JOURN 408: Research Methods (3) JOURN 446: Media Ethics (3) Media Management Focus (11+* credit hours): JOURN 410: Communication in Media Organizations (3) JOURN 433: Proseminar (case studies) (2) *This optional elective course is offered on campus each summer in a long-weekend format. The course may be repeated each summer.
