As a result of study in this program students will: Use standard symbolic representations for elements and compounds, and for their chemical transformations Understand the historical and modern principles of atomic and molecular structure Describe the molecular basis for physical properties of materials, and of physical transformations Describe the molecular basis of chemical reactions, and their macroscopic consequences Use qualitative and quantitative thermodynamics to characterize energy relationships governing physical and chemical transformations Perform accurate and precise chemical analysis using physical, chemical, or spectroscopic methods Utilize kinetic methods to determine reaction order, rate, and mechanism Search for, retrieve, and analyze scientific information from literature and database sources Keep accurate laboratory records, appropriately analyze data, and author clearly written experimental result reports Describe the important contributions of chemistry to contemporary society View more details on Victory University .
