The program focuses on professional education preparation, providing a balance of coursework that reflects educational theory with real experiences applied in the classroom, culminating with a mentored teaching internship in the student's current work environment. Students' demonstrated skills applied to the Essential Dimensions of Teaching and the Maryland Teacher Technology Standards are developmental in nature and supported by their instructors in the various courses and experiences throughout the program. Students receive feedback and support for their performance on selected assignments reflecting these standards using rubric-based assessments. Data-based Assessment Documentation for the overall program and a profile for each student enrolled in professional education courses provides information the program faculty uses to improve program delivery as a whole and support each students individual and unique needs.
