Law Enforcement - Alexandria Technical College

Law Enforcement from Alexandria Technical College is a Online Certificate Law Enforcement degree that prepares you for a Legal career. The Diploma programs range from 30 to 72 semester credits and focus primarily on technical courses. The two-year diploma includes a minimum of 11 semester credits of general education as well as the required technical credits. The Law Enforcement Career Transition program is for individuals who have been granted a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university or an Associate in Applied Science, Associate in Arts, or Associate in Science degree from an accredited two-year college. This program gives students an opportunity to change careers. Students will attend spring semester classes, then move into the summer Skills program to complete the Minnesota Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) requirements. Semester classes will include but not necessarily be limited to traffic/selected statutes, criminal procedure, police human relations/community policing, Minnesota criminal code, and electives in juvenile justice and first responder.
