Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology Baccalaureate degree graduates will demonstrate additional depth and breadth to the program educational objectives stated above. In addition, the following accomplishments are also expected of baccalaureate degree graduates. 1. Graduates perform analysis, applied design, and development of more advanced mechanical systems and processes. 2. To provide breadth for additional job opportunities, graduates will possess a working knowledge in manufacturing processes and materials, mechanical design, and electro?mechanical devices and controls. 3. Graduates manage technical activities in support of mechanical systems Program Outcomes The Mechanical Engineering Technology program publishes the following program outcomes to describe what students are expected to know and do at the time of graduation. These relate to knowledge, skills, and behaviors that students acquire in the program. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology 1. Students perform analysis, mechanical design, and development of mechanical systems with a focus on relationships between mechanical design, electro-mechanical devices and controls, and manufacturing. 2. Students perform economic analyses and industrial operations plans for manufacturing mechanical parts. 3. Students plan and prepare design and operating documents for mechanical systems. 4. Students select appropriate materials and methods for manufacturing of machine parts. 5. Students maintain an understanding of professional practice issues between designers, manufacturers, and customers. 6. Students manage technical projects involving manufacturing for schedules, costs, and quality assurance. 7. Students use productivity software in the mechanical systems industry.
