Undergraduate Vision: The mission of the Boise State University (BSU) Civil Engineering Department is to be accomplished through undergraduate teaching, graduate studies and research. These goals will be achieved through a balance of teaching and technical assistance to local and regional industry and government agencies. Our program is characterized by an assessment process for a continuous improvement/feedback process in areas of instruction and learning methods to enhance the benefits of the educational experience. We seek to implement program advancements through continuous improvement of departmental and college facilities. Expansion of our program will provide greater opportunities for graduate educational experiences for students and working professionals in Idaho and surroundings areas. We cultivate the atmosphere of collegiality and cooperation between our students, our colleagues, and the surrounding state and regional community-at-large through exposure to and retention of a knowledgeable faculty with diverse interests and backgrounds, and an ?open door? policy for student advising. We actively support student and professional chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), as well as many other professional societies related to the various aspects of civil engineering , to enhance both student and professional development. We will accommodate a diverse population of non-traditional, minority, returning students, and traditional students and provide outreach assistance to the local and regional civil engineering community in public and private practice.
