A full academic schedule of courses for graduate students is nine semester credit hours. Exceptions to this policy may be made only with the approval of the Chair and/or the ELCF Graduate Planning Committee. The option require completion of 36 semester credit hours for graduation at the master's level. All students enrolled in the programs options, after completing 24 semester credit hours of course work, must register for and: 1) successfully pass the required comprehensive examination; and, 2) successfully complete the required practica/internship. All degree requirements must be completed within six years. General Administration Option Students must meet the general requirements for admission to the graduate program. In addition applicants must: 1) present written recommendations from two school administrators and /or supervisors familiar with the applicant's work; 2) two years full-time teaching or school service personnel work at the elementary or secondary level in a public, private, or parochial school setting; 3) certification only: Master's Degree . The General Administration Program requires completion of 36 credit hour and each student must successfully complete program assessments, which include 1) Illinois Certification Content Area Test ; 2) the comprehensive examination; 3) Budget Plan; 4) a practicum campus evaluation; 5) a practicum site evaluation; and 6) a professional portfolio.
