The Associate of Science in Electronics Technology (ASET) is designed to provide foundational skills for this exciting career field as well as a solid undergraduate education. The ASET degree program also comprises the first two years of either the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE) degree programs. Students must have a relatively strong math background in order to be successful in the ASET degree program. What skills can I learn? On the commercial side, some companies employ technicians and interns with at least an associate's degree to manufacture, analyze and test integrated circuit products ("chips"). On the government contractor side, firms need technicians or interns to work on command, control, communications , computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems that are the backbone of national defense.
