Description: The writing major curriculum provides students with a wide range of classes in which to develop writing schools. The selections depends a career goals. Unique Program Features: Students may select a combination of courses from four different fields, including Creative Writing: Students study writing poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, screenwriting and playwriting. They may write for HBU's literary journal, Crossroads. Professional and Technical Writing: Students take cources in professional and technical writing to prepare for careers in writing , such as editing a journal, writing for a journal, or writing for publications for business and foundations. Students will also find these courses helpful for professions where intensive writing is required, such as teaching, law, grant writing , technical writing, advertising, public relations, editing and publishing. Rhetoric: Many Courses in the Writing major contain a strong emphasis on classical rhetoric, which can help students enhance their skills in persuasion and critical thinking.
