Acting from Ithaca College is a Campus Bachelor Acting degree that prepares you for a Art and Design career. If you're seeking a professional acting career, Ithaca's bachelor of fine arts degree in acting is for you. We offer a performance-oriented curriculum with highly individualized instruction plus opportunities within the liberal arts for a broader general education. Your training will begin with two years of coursework in voice, movement, and scene study accompanied by work in stagecraft, history, and theater organization and management. During your junior and senior years, you'll extend this basic training through classes in styles of acting , directing, television acting, dialects, dance, and dramatic theory. You'll also have your choice of special elective workshops in audition techniques, professional aspects of theater, opera and musical theater, and more. Each semester you'll have the opportunity to participate in one of six shows produced by Ithaca College Theatre or in a variety of other opportunities on campus and in the Ithaca area. Professional theater companies in the city of Ithaca -- for example, the Hangar Theatre and the Kitchen Theatre -- all provide ample opportunities to stretch your legs. Round out your experience with a semester abroad at the Ithaca College London Center. In an intensive, nine-credit course, Interrelationships: British Drama and Cultural Life, you'll participate in a seminar and lab centered around the review and discussion of the more than 20 plays that you'll attend -- many in the fabled West End -- over the course of the semester. And if you have two semesters of acting experience, you can also take Introduction to British Styles of Acting. View more details on Ithaca College .
