Today's art graduates aren't limited to the gallery or the studio: our training can prepare you for positions as diverse as movie-effects specialist, medical illustrator, book or set designer, and teacher. You'll have access to courses throughout the School of Humanities and Sciences and our professional schools -- communications and business, for example -- allowing you to pursue career goals beyond the reach of most art programs. Our art programs, the bachelor of arts and the bachelor of fine arts , provide tutorials and small studio classes that foster close interaction with our accomplished faculty. And our facility accommodates a variety of studio art areas, including drawing, painting, computer graphics, printmaking, and sculpture. The art major is complemented by a strong art history department, which provides opportunities to research the development of art and architecture. If you're interested in teaching, you can take advantage of our new program leading to initial New York State teacher certification.
