Operations management addresses topics such as quality assurancequality improvement principles, licensure, accreditation, medico-legal issues, intra- and inter-departmental relations, data processing, safety, flow charting and management of the operating facility. In all clinical laboratories personnel management is the key to a successful laboratory. This area of study addresses issues such as: motivation, staffing/scheduling, performance standards and evaluations, counseling or disciplinary action, education, training/continuing education, the job description, wage and salary administration and negotiation.
