Art Education from Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary is a Campus Bachelor Teaching degree that prepares you for a Education career. Moravian offers a certification program in the teaching of art (K-12). Students complete a full major in art as described under the Art Education track. Students also complete Education 150 and 155 in the sophomore year and Education 240.2 and 242.2 in the junior year. They complete Education 266 during the junior year and Education 366 in the senior year. Physical Education 236 is required as one of the physical education activities. The major in art consists of 11 courses. All four tracks utilize a common core of four courses that emphasize the historical traditions of art , introduce the elements of design and principles of composition, and develop skills in drawing and painting. These courses are Art 114, 140, 170, and 239. The Art Education track is designed for students to pursue careers and receive certification in teaching art to students at all grade levels (kindergarten to grade 12). In addition to the four common-core courses listed above, this track requires Art 113, 131, 159, 160, 167, 335, 339.
