Nursing Nurse Practitioner from St Catherine University is a Campus Master Registered Nurse degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The Nurse Practitioner Concentration prepares advanced practice nurses to provide primary care across the lifespan, with specific clinical content for each of the three specialty options: neonatal, pediatric and adult-gerontological. You are admitted directly to a specialty area. Graduates are eligible to take the National Certification Exam in their chosen specialty. Graduates of the adult-gerontological option can choose to take certification exams in both the adult and gerontological specialty, or in just one of those areas. More than 600 hours of advanced clinical practice experience are completed during the advanced practice courses. Option coordinators work together with you to secure preceptors prior to clinical course work. The option coordinator approves all clinical placements for students in that option. Faculty supervise clinical placements by making visits to each site and arranging conferences with students and preceptors. The nursing faculty are committed to providing healthcare to underserved populations, including individuals and families in rural areas.
