Bilingual Education from Boston University is a Campus Master Bilingual Education degree that prepares you for a Education career. The Bilingual Education Program offers an EdM in bilingual education with or without 1-6 certification. Candidates may also pursue a double certification in bilingual education (1-6) and ESL (pre-K-9). Candidates must be proficient in English and at least one other language. Certification candidates must complete bilingual education , general education , and field practica. The noncertification program includes a bilingual core, specialization courses, and a final project. All graduate candidates must also fulfill SED research requirements. Specific courses for either the certification or noncertification programs are chosen in consultation with the student's advisor. Undergraduate transcripts are reviewed for certification candidates to determine whether the prerequisites for the program have been completed. Students at the master's level acquire expertise in a specific educational area while developing a background in bilingual education .
