The minimum requirement for completion of the EdM program is eight courses, a total of 32 semester hours. Coursework includes studies in counseling theory, human development, measurement, cross-cultural perspectives, and supervised practice in counseling . Students specializing in school counseling must follow a 12-month (June-May) program of studies beginning with summer study. This specialization requires 10 courses for a total of 40 semester hours. All other students are limited to full-time study beginning in September. Students pursuing particular specializations should consult their advisors for additional requirements.
