Professional coursework focuses on research and theories in child growth and development and their implications for program development and instruction; programs, practices, and issues in early childhood education ; skills related to instructional communication and the design of educational environments; content and methodology related to instructing the young child in such areas as mathematics, science, the language arts, social studies, and the arts; and applying and integrating knowledge and skills through fieldwork and the development of curriculum and learning materials.
