Individuals can usually prepare for certification in other states according to requirements of those states. At the EdD level, experienced educators prepare for responsibilities as college and university professors in reading education , reading coordinators in public schools, and reading researchers. Candidates plan their study on an individual basis, but must complete Schoolwide and departmental core coursework, as well as coursework in research and courses in reading and language development in the School of Education or related departments of the University.
