Studio Arts from Institute of American Indian and Alaska Native Culture is a Campus Bachelor Fine Art degree that prepares you for a Art and Design career. Who We Are The Studio Arts Department delivers all fine art classes required to achieve the BFA degree . The courses are divided into five areas of focus including painting, photography, ceramics, jewelry/metals, and sculpture. Objectives The BFA studio arts program offers students the opportunity for advanced study in two or three-dimensional arts. Students have the choice of focusing on a single or double concentration in the two-dimensional studio art area or the option of working in both two-dimensional/three-dimensional arts as part of an interdisciplinary studio art concentration. IAIA's program offers several specialized courses in studio arts designed so the student can concentrate on a particular technique or focused area of study. The BFA studio arts program requires students to take Senior Project I and II during the last year of study. These courses allow the student the time and one-on-one contact with the faculty to develop a thesis statement and exhibition to complete the BFA studio arts degree requirements. Multiple Career Paths Alumni from the IAIA Studio Arts Program have exhibited their work in galleries and museums both nationally and internationally, and have received numerous awards for their work and their contribution to the arts. Students will be prepared to continue on to graduate school or find employment in numerous professional environments including galleries, museums, and art organizations.
