For students who wish to pursue their interest in the Latin language and culture and Classical culture, history and literature . Program includes study tours to countries once controlled by Rome; credits for tours can be applied toward the certificate requirements if the tour is related to either the Latin language or ancient civilization. Prerequisites: demonstrated proficiency in Latin satisfactory scores on Graduate Studies grammar and usage tests/essay (waived for those with a master's degree) Credits may be applied to the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree, or 12 of the credits may be used for a Latin concentration within the Master of Arts in Leadership in Teaching degree. Time limit: within 4 years of admission. Fifteen of the 18 credits must be completed at Notre Dame; 3 credits may be transferred. Courses can be applied to the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program, or 12 credits may be used for a Latin concentration within the Master of Arts in Leadership in Teaching program.
